Guest posting

How many of you guest post on other blogs?

I’ve never done it. Well there was the one time I posted my story on the Mobile Women website but it wasn’t really a blog. It was more of an article and I also did a short Vlog for them about how I get my 2 year old into his carseat, in the van.

I don’t count those though.

I have plans this year to do a few guest posts.

So far I only have Scary Mommy in the works. You should see if you’d like to be a guest poster for her too. I’ll let you know when I make definite plans; at the moment I am trying to think of WHAT to write about.

I’m thinking about lining some up for my OWN blog. I’ll get back to you on that.

I thought you couldn’t have anymore?

That’s the question I am getting now that we are pregnant again.

It’s not that I COULDN’T. It was that I SHOULDN’T.

If you know me, I don’t take no for an answer when I want a YES. So…… If you read this post, where I got a “green light”, it will clear things up a bit for you.

Vote. Boy. or Girl.

boy_or_girl.gif

Pick one.

It’s that easy.

We should find out in about 7 weeks if this baby is a boy or if the playing field will even out some with a girl.

Poll is to your right, in the sidebar :) .

Oooh.. and if you vote, leave a comment HERE or there so I know you did :) .

This is amazing.

I think this wonderful thing The Bloggess helped do is just amazing. It’s not about “celebrating” this holiday, that holiday, or no holiday. It’s about CARING for your fellow human. That’s it; just wanting other people to make it through the day or helping someone’s kid smile when they expect to. Of course, it happened during the Christmas Season and originated to help by Christmas gifts but that’s clearly not what it was all about. If you don’t think this is amazing, then….well. I feel very sorry for you.

Here is her post.

Everyone please be safe. Please be happy. Enjoy the time you have with your family. I know tomorrow morning my kids will be very happy :) .

Check up went well.

Look how handsome?!!!

Monday, we had William’s 6 year old checkup. :) :(

Here he is at school last Thursday.

I can not believe it. ACK! Time really flies.

Well. His weight was right in the middle of  the scale and his height continues to be in the 75% percentile. No surprises.

NO MORE SHOTS UNTIL 11!!!!!!!!!! WOWZERS

The visit went well. Hopefully we won’t see the doc again until May for Lucas’ well check.

The little girl in the picture that I probably need to blur out?? I think Will likes her :)

New baby checklist.

BEfore you read this have you clicked the follow me button over there on the right?! Just checking :) . you won’t want to miss anything over the next 6 months as we prepare for Baby #3.

Okay. I know I have until the end of June but it’s been over two years. I can’t remember what all I need or where what I had is. So I need to create a check list that I can update as I find stuff/add it to shower registry/buy it.

One of the hard things about all this is Lucas was transitioning out of some of it when we moved and just getting into others, I guess that’s why some is easier than others

  • Carseat – friend in Dallas has it (SHE NEVER USED IT … only used by me, FYI!! If it was safe for Lucas to use it the last time he did it’s safe for the baby.)
  • carseat cover – I liked it when we bought it but the material is strange and sweaty feet made it look dirty — carseat we have it perfect pattern
  • swing – Dallas
  • bouncy – I think it’s in the attic
  • boppy- NO IDEA – on list
  • Tub – in garage
  • tub liner for itty bitty – NO IDEA but I love it so I hope I find it or a new one JUST like it
  • changing pad – in a closet – I saw it recently – will need new covers based on gender, I only have one
  • breast pads/cream – on list
  • stroller- needs cleaned up in garage . I really hope things weren’t stacked on it/ruined it if they are we’ll budget one in at the last minute I really loved the one we had. VERY easy for me to push.
  • carseat base for stroller – ???
  • Bed/dresser – in storage – will be painted
  • clothes if BOY – in boy’s closet
  • clothes if Girl – ZIP, ZERO, NADA (okay that’s a lie, I have about 10 outfits from 0-12 months that I’ve purchased on clearance over the last decade)
  • exercauser – garage
  • playmat – somewhere ???????
  • push behind walker (NOT SIT IN) – attic?????????
  • boy bedding/room – mostly done (blanket FOUND, skirt ordered and bumper borrowed)
  • girl bedding – not even closer

What am I forgetting?!

Major Dinner Plans

It’s a great feeling when you plan your meals. You don’t have any worries and MOST of the time (not always) you can do some shuffling if things don’t sound good for the night originally planned. Well. Tonight I planned our meals through Jan. 15th. Sorta. They are planned and purchased through the 7th with only a store run for milk, bread, lunch meat and a rotten chicken (rotisserie, but I like to be silly like that). The only thing we will need on the 8th is bacon and some spices. Oh, and more milk and bread.

How awesome is that.

The meal plan is long. And boring. And it includes eating out 3 times.

The first time is on Jan. 1 – just because :) .
The second is drive through on the first friday after school starts back – because I am going to be tired getting back into routine.
The third time is on the 15th and my THIRTIETH BIRTHDAY! SO, that’s a given :) .

If you want the full list I’ll post it…. if no one shouts out then that’s too bad. You’ll just have to wonder.

Because he likes mustard.

So it begins. The bullying and teasing. I’m not sure it’s REALLY bullying, but it’s definitely kids being mean.

Yesterday morning I was sleeping in and Charlie was getting Will ready for school. I guess he was trying to talk Will into eating the school lunch but he was insistent we pack his lunch.

Why?

He likes mustard on his ham and cheese sandwich and the other kids make fun of him and tell him it’s gross. :( (that was the item he liked from the list being served at school)

That’s sad to me. He should be able to eat something as perfectly normal as a sandwich without his friends making yucky sounds when they see him put a condiment on it.

Ugh. It’s just the beginning right!?

There is a part of me that wants to mention it to his teacher but what good would that really do?

ETA: I’m very certain there is nothing more going on. . Clearly if he told me this he’d tell me more. Especially since he knows if for WHATEVER reason he ever decides, we will homeschool. He wants to but he wants to stay in school too.. I doubt he’d want to stay if it were more than mustard.

Going. Going. Not all gone.

We finally cut Lucas’ hair about 2 weeks ago. IT was NOT an easy decision.

We did it though. He looks so different and still so handsome.

The funny thing is that it’s still super curly and goes in about 100 different directions.

I’m lazy (actually I’m sick … lingering cold) and have not uploaded the good pictures so here is a before and after from my phone.
