My date night..

Tonight I had a date…..

My suitor was about 3 feet tall, 27 lbs., blond hair, blue eyes….we dined in the dark, our only light coming from the big TV playing Scooby-Doo. Dinner was followed by a magic show, fabulous arcade games and a horse ride……

Well, carousel ride that HAD horses, but we weren’t on one…

ok… I TRIED the potty train in a day book and Will refused to eat anything salty or drink….That was a HUGE part of it working because it forced him to pee more and give us more chances to get on the potty and actually do something.

HE LOVED “training” his doll though and it has us on track for training.

I can’t say it “worked in a day” but we will keep praising him for staying dry in his big kid underwear and “racing” him to the bathroom. Some time he wants to sit, others he doesn’t.

He is yet to go on the potty but only wets his underwear about 3 times a day… so he is staying dry A LONG time.

I am charting WHEN he does pee so I can ask him to go potty less and maybe hit it right more often.

I think the book was VERY helpful and we are on track to be potty trained.

It may take two weeks or two months but the book helped. He LOVES to take BABY (What we named the doll) to potty.

We are wearing pull-ups at night but haven’t thrown away the diapers yet (part of the reward and allowing to him to KNOW he is a BIG BOY!!! )but will let him do that soon (we won’t REALLY throw them away but he won’t know that).smallIMG_9277.jpg

talking….

Will said “I wanna buy this” when we were at the store today (it was a CARS book)…. I can’t believe my baby is saying sentences already!!

So silly

When we were on the airplane over the holidays Charlie had to carry me to the restroom. The little girl behind us got the BIGGEST kick out of it and thought it was soooo silly. She said so when we got back and her parents shussed her….. so I jumped in and agreed that it was super silly but silly can be good. :) She then asked why and I told her and she talked to us off and on throughout the rest of the flight, often reminding me that it was so silly I had to be carried  — LOL.

Sleep issues and potty?!

OMG!!

I am going to lose my mind. Will doesnt want to nap and he just SCREAMS bloody murder if I try and make him. I can tell he is soooo tired.

Last night he didnt go to bed until MIDNIGHT! We fought him OVER AND OVER AND OVER!!! Finally Charlie had to put the side back on the crib and he finally passed out. I guess we are starting over on the BIG boy bed process.  He was doing so well, but we couldnt take it anymore.

We might do a potty party tomorrow or Friday. Almost all the reviewers SWEAR by it so we shall see if I can have a potty-trained sleepy toddler.

North Dakota Recap

When we got to the airport on Thursday we had a one hour delay in our flight, but we eventually flew to Minnesota. While they were loading the plane Will watched them load the luggage THE ENTIRE time!! He kept calling the carts “trains”.

There were two other people we knew on the flight. One Charlie worked with a couple of years ago and someone he works with now. What are the odds??!!

Fortunately the next flight was delayed as well because we would have missed it otherwise. We finally got to Minot and I realyzed Will was no where NEAR waking up and we didnt want to wake him either so instead of taking him out of his carseat and undressing him we just wrapped Daddy’s jacket around him IN the carseat. He was fine until someone took him out of the carseat and the cold air hit his bare arms. He was back to sleep the second we put him in the bed though.

Friday and Saturday were pretty much the same. Visiting, eating and playing games. I got some cute pictures and short video clips of Will playing with Great Grandma

Sunday was Christmas eve and when everyone there celebrates Christmas. Will wanted to hand out ALL the gifts (about 50). He was able to get to know who everyone was.

We were supposed to leave on Monday (evening) but we found out Sunday night that our flight was CANCELED for NO REASON (not even weather).

Monday we just hung out and Tueday we had lunch at a local diner (the name is SOUTH OF THE BORDER ((LOL)), told Grandmas goodbye and headed to the airport. Our seat assignments were quite insane, but the flight attendant shuffled things around. (Will wasnt originally sitting anywhere NEAR us, though with Glen, but we didnt think he’d do well without us near).

WE had a HUGE delay in Minnesota so we ate and walked around and finally got home around midnight.
