Our Classical Conversations Potluck

Our Classical Conversations (CC) group wrapped up the week we are in Las Vegas so I did not get to see my class on week 24. I was disappointed but knew they would be in good hands with my sub.

I also knew I would see all  (most) of them again at our potluck. I was NOT expecting gifts! Look what a few of my sweet kiddos brought for me!? See the coffee mug with the pink? The mom told me that her little boy wanted to find just the right mug and it had to have pink. He remembered that I love pink! How precious is that? Or maybe it was the mom that remembered I like pink and with everything going on I just misunderstood. 

We planeed a CC potluck several months back and the RSVP numbers kept growing and growing. How exciting! 

Now If you’ll remember, I come from a large family. That means I’m used to big crowds lots of commotion and so much noise, you can barely hear yourself think. It feels natural. It feels like home. I love every minute of it.

I won’t be sharing pictures, there were way to many people I would need to get permission from but there were at LEAST 70 people here. Most people stayed in the kitchen or in the backyard and the house never felt overly congested. I heard from Charlie that the back door was a bottle neck but I think that would be the case in most houses.

When we bought this house we feel in love with the floorpan and the size of the back yard. I just KNEW it would be fantastic for entertaining and it has not failed me.

Our director rented a waterslide and the kids had a blast.

We grilled hotdogs and hamburgers and everyone brought goodies to make the day perfect. This wasn’t our first potluck here, we also had one back in November. We definitely had fewer people then. 

I love having a house full of people. I think a few of my friends were feeling overwhelmed for me, but I told them not to worry. I love every minute of it. It also helps that I don’t worry about the house being absolutely perfect for a crowd that size. We always lock the boys bedrooms, so I don’t have to worry about scattered toys, so that helps TREMENDOUSLY!

Bathrooms were cleaned, floors were swept BUT NOT MOPPED and counters were cleaned. All things we would have done anyways. Oh and believe it or not, the house was just as clean when everyone left as before everyone got here. All the moms pitched in and everything was put back in order.
