{"id":5677,"date":"2012-11-19T16:37:43","date_gmt":"2012-11-19T22:37:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wheelchairmommy.com\/?p=5677"},"modified":"2012-11-19T17:00:19","modified_gmt":"2012-11-19T23:00:19","slug":"tip-your-tandem-instructor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.wheelchairmommy.com\/closed\/2012\/tip-your-tandem-instructor\/","title":{"rendered":"Tip your tandem instructor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Have you ever had an &#8220;oh, crap!&#8221; moment?!<\/p>\n<p>I did.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, again.<\/p>\n<p>This happens to me far too often.<\/p>\n<p>Anyways, we were at the DZ recently and I was chatting with my TI a bit and then he started talking to some of the jumpers sitting next to us.<\/p>\n<p>He was no longer talking to me, but I was clearly close enough to hear the conversation, so I wasn&#8217;t exactly eavesdropping.<\/p>\n<p>They had an awesome number of jumps that day but my TI mentioned that not one person had tipped him.<\/p>\n<p>Wait.<\/p>\n<p>Back up.<\/p>\n<p>I should have considered tipping him?<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 285px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wheelchairmommy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/20121119-163550.jpg\" alt=\"20121119-163550.jpg\" width=\"275\" height=\"368\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">NOT my actual tip.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Uh. Oh.<\/p>\n<p>Clearly, I enjoyed our jumps, but I had no idea that people tipped for this.<\/p>\n<p>In my defense, I had planned on buying him beer, but found out he doesn&#8217;t drink, so it at least occurred to me to show my appreciation.<\/p>\n<p>So?<\/p>\n<p>The lesson is this.<\/p>\n<p>If you are planning a jump, and aren&#8217;t strapped to spend a little extra, PLEASE, tip your TI and while you are at it, you should PROBABLY tip your videographer, if you have one.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Obviously, it&#8217;s not EXPECTED but CLEARLY appreciated.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Now, the next question is whether or not I need to tip for EVERY one of our jumps?!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll have MY tip ready when I got out next time!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Have you ever had an &#8220;oh, crap!&#8221; moment?!
