{"id":3770,"date":"2011-06-06T06:38:48","date_gmt":"2011-06-06T11:38:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wheelchairmommy.com\/?p=3770"},"modified":"2011-06-05T21:29:14","modified_gmt":"2011-06-06T02:29:14","slug":"hes-not-a-saint","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.wheelchairmommy.com\/closed\/2011\/hes-not-a-saint\/","title":{"rendered":"He&#8217;s not a Saint."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I love my husband. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wheelchairmommy.com\/2011\/because-i-love-him\/\">I think this post makes that abundantly clea<\/a>r, however I have something to say.<\/p>\n<p>I do not hear it very often<em> (in fact I can&#8217;t remember when I last heard it, so if  you are trying to think about whether you said it to me you are probably safe *wink* )<\/em>, but on the rare occasion people are just blown away that I met my husband AFTER my injury and they tell me how lucky I am and how wonderful he must be to have wanted to date and marry me.<\/p>\n<p>Really?<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s beyond insulting. Think about what you are saying if these words cross your lips. <\/p>\n<p><em>I&#8217;m lucky that he would want me? <\/em><\/p>\n<p>It may not be what you mean, but in my mind, that implies that I am less of a woman. Less of a <em>PERSON<\/em>, because I can&#8217;t use my legs. <\/p>\n<p>Would you ever look at someone that was anorexic and tell her she&#8217;s lucky her husband wanted her because she&#8217;s too skinny? or a woman brunette she&#8217;s lucky her husband wanted her because she wasn&#8217;t blonde?<\/p>\n<p>No, they aren&#8217;t exactly the same thing, but that is all it is to me. <\/p>\n<p>I still cook. I still clean. I still drive. I still have sex. I still do EVERYTHING any other woman would do, so WHY should I feel LUCKY that I could &#8220;find&#8221; a man that would want me?<\/p>\n<p>Again, I know this may not be what you mean or what you intend to imply but SAY what you mean&#8230; put your foot in your mouth over and over to explain what you mean because otherwise, this is what I assume.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I love my husband.
