We had our first event this weekend with Seaworld San Antonio and I was super excited to meet the other Wildside Bloggers and to see friends from far off places that I’d met years before. Okay, she doesn’t live THAT far away but it’s far enough. Oh, and our oldest boys? They are exactly the same age and I think they would be TOTAL BFFs if boys had BFFs and 8 year olds had iphones. Wait? What?! There are 8 year olds with iphones?! Okay. Well. Mine doesn’t have one and I don’t think Sarah’s does either.
Oh, I can’t forget this part – before we left the parking the boys made sure we remembered to put our phone number on their arms! Ha. Everyone thought it was a genius idea so I totally hope it helps someone out!
Seaworld graciously treated any of us that wanted to play, the chance to wade with the stingrays and feed them. I didn’t think they’d enjoy me sitting on them, so I chose to sit on the cliff and watch, while snapping pictures. I was also taking video and of course, Nathan tried climbing in. What kind of almost 2 year old would he be if he wasn’t climbing on or in something?! We decided to let him and he LOVED it.
If you ever go, be sure to check with Lucas so he can teach you the proper “stingray shuffle”. He’s an expert. 😉
You should also ride the Stingray Falls after you are done, you’ll see the Stingrays as the ride takes you underneath their pool and you’ll see them from a totally different perspective. So I hear.
Again, I sat out with the baby and didn’t get to go, but Will raved about it and went again later in the day with his new buddy. Lucas seemed to like it but had to desire to go a second time.
We had our own private “beach” and I kept rolling past these GORGEOUS flowers. I thought they deserved a little place in the blogosphere. Now I must find out what they are and where in my yard I can plant them.
We enjoyed  lunch at the Waterstone Grill, and afterwards the boys wanted to play in the water. The weather was S.L.O.W.L.Y. warming up so Charlie took Lucas around on the Loggerhead Lane. Will and his buddy had already been around once and decided to go again. It’s about a 5 minute “lazy river” type tube ride that looked quite relaxing if the weather had been a bit warmer.
It did in fact get quite a bit warmer so we decided it was time to let Nathan get wet. The tan wasn’t on purpose. I promise. He loved the wave pool. I am guessing that this little guy is going to be all about the pool this summer.
Speaking of the wave pool, earlier today, Lucas was pretending that our house was the wave pool and he announced the waves would start again in 5 minutes and 20 seconds.
We talked a little business and the Seaworld Staff gave us a few little sneaks about upcoming night time events coming this summer, so be on the lookout for more information, it sounds like an absolute blast and I hope the boys are up for experiencing the park at night.
We decided to end our day by seeing the Azul Show. We didn’t get to see it last year, so it was an obvious choice.
We had to find something to do for about an hour, so we went to feed the dolphons. We just missed their last feeding but that didn’t stop the kids from STAYING ON THEIR TUMMIES and putting their hands in the water, hoping for a little interaction. The dolphins chose to play with other boys and girls, so after about 20 minutes we headed to the Azul theater.
This show?!
Wow. It was AMAZING. The beluga wales are breathtaking and the acrobatics are just incredible.
I kept thinking to myself, “if these guys don’t skydive, THEY TOTALLY SHOULD”!
Yes, I’m that addicted.
I can’t wait to see this show again.
Seeing all these beautiful sea creatures makes me a little sad, thinking about one of my “could have beens”, but that’s a post for another day.

I’m sure it’s impossible for you to forget but I am a SeaWorld Wildside blogger for the 2013 season, so my boys (Charlie included) and I did get free season passes to both SeaWorld and Aquatica. However, I was NOT asked to write this post and the opinions are ENTIRELY mine or Charlie’s or the boys. I promise. If you doubt my sincerity, feel free to read this post from last year .
