This is what I love. This is what I am going to miss. This week my “baby” has almost an entire week home with me. He only goes to school on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Friday is just a “School holiday” and Monday, well, Monday is President’s Day. So, see? Almost a full week home with Mommy.
I’m not really looking forward to this fall when he goes to school. I’m going to be so sad. How is it that I have a 5 year old? I can’t believe I have an ANOTHER child almost 2. It’s so sad. And wonderful. And amazing. And loud. Gosh. I’m gonna miss this!

Yup. You heard me right. We put our almost toddler in a tent. Sorta. It’s a crib tent. Netting that goes over and he can’t climb out. I remember seeing them but forgot all about them. Then the lovely DigitalKady suggested it and we went on the hunt. Walmart didn’t have it. Target didnt have it. The one baby store listed that supposedly carried it was OUT. Again. He said they don’t stay on the shelf. I looked on Craig’s List. I found an OLD posting from last month. Emailed anyways. Shot in the dark, right? They still had it!! DH went to look since it was by his office and BAM! We bought it and now our baby is in jail. He didnt like it when I zipped it but only fussed — oooh, maybe 1 minutes? Not bad

I had to take the side off because he almost feel out.

I’m not really looking forward to this fall when he goes to school full time. I’m going to be so sad. How is it that I have a 5 year old? I can’t believe I have an ANOTHER child almost 2. It’s so sad. And wonderful. And amazing. And loud. Gosh. I’m gonna miss this!

If you would like I also posted this on say it face to face!
I’ve noticed the Monday Mingle around but I’ve never played along. This week I did. So do you wanna see what I had to say? I must warn you. . . I am a total dork on camera. I need to talk to the dentist about that crooked jaw of mine.
Anyways here is the cute button so you can find Eighty MPH Mom’s blog:
Go easy. It’s my first time.
I also added my response to Say it face to face
The other day, I was reading Green Enough for Me’s blog post: Time out for Mommy. Go read it. Now or after you finish MY post, just read it. Anyways, I left her a comment and kinda forgot about it. Then she emailed me and it prompted this post. So here goes.
When I go out without my kids I feel kinda naked and exposed. People are more afraid of my wheelchair and letting their kids near me and I don’t like it. I guess in a way that’s bad for me?! Do I use my children as a cover to make things easier?! I don’t remember feeling like this BEFORE I had them. I sometimes feel like maybe people think I don’t like kids when they see me without them. All kinds of messed up things go through my head. If someone apologizes for their son (girls do it too but it’s ALMOST ALWAYS THE BOYS) touching my tires, I giggles and tell them I have 2 at home with daddy (g’ma, sitter, playdate…). They look at me funny. Really. They do. They don’t look at me funny when I am OUT with the boys though so maybe it’s all in my head.
Now, it’s not like I go without my boys that often. I don’t. . .but yeah. . . I don’t like it and it’s time I tell someone so THANK YOU, Sidnie for prompting me to get that out.

P.S. I’ll get 365s up soon
 . . I promise.
A couple of weeks ago we made the wonderful decision to plan ahead . . . just a LITTLE. Charlie kept trying to talk me into going to see Avatar in 3D at the I-max but I kept saying, “NO.” Finally I gave in and we were all set to go tonight. We were really looking forward to a nice evening; just the two of us. It’s not like we don’t go on dates somewhat regularly, but it’s always welcomed. Then it hit us. At the same time. February 5th was no ordinary Friday night. It is Tiger Cub belt testing. And not just ANY test. Will is testing for his BLACK belt. Yes, I will soon have a tiger cub black belt to protect me from all the evil that lurks in my small suburban neighborhood. This also meant that we were going to need to carefully coordinate for our date. Yuck. We soon found out we would have to reschedule entirely. The movie shows at 7 and 10 something. Testing is at 6:15. No way we can make 7. We are in no way going to keep a babysitter up past midnight so the 10ish one was out too. THen I had to make the dreaded “we are so sorry but we are idiots and double scheduled stuff” phone call. The sitter understood but I felt just awful! I have NO idea when we are going to get to see the movie. Soon I hope. But did you hear that I a going to have a TIGER CUB black belt to protect me?
My oldest son only goes to school on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. In order to spend as much time with him as possible I am going to make it my goal to NOT to anything bloggy before 8PM on his days off; Tuesday and Thursday. It’s going to be tough because he’s a video game addict but I will try . . . I will still tweet the funny stuff he and his brother do but I will NOT be tweeting for networking.
This time has gone by SO fast and I want it to SLOW DOWN.
How do YOU manage your blog/tweet/networking time and time with your kids?!
